SERVICE INFORMATION

59/00-2 GROUP 91 - MODELS 210 and 220 WITH SIDE AIRBAGS, SRS COMPONENTS: As previously stated in MB Net Message number 139 (DTB 10/99), and in Diagnostic Directory Topic AF91.60-U-6005A, when replacing the Restraint System Control Module (N2/7) or either Side Airbag Sensor (A53/1, A54/1) for any reason, all parts MUST be from the same manufacturer (Bosch or Temic).

If you fail to ensure this, fault codes B1310 and B1311 (communication malfunction) will be stored in the Restraint System Control Module and it will not be possible to delete them.

Also, electrical damage may occur to vehicle components. Note that only the Bosch Restraint System Control Module is available as a spare part.
