REMOVING Remove     
1 Prepare glue cartridge COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Betagun 2K electric cartridge gun AR67.10-P-1000-07P

2 Remove coupe roof or open soft top IMPORTANT See operating instructions  
3 Remove window molding from side of windshield IMPORTANT The paneling above the windshield need not be removed.
If necessary disconnect connector from rain sensor

4 Open hood and raise to vertical position    
5 Mask fender in contact surface to paneling at front wall pillar with adhesive tape (arrow) and install protective fender cover    
6 Remove wiper system and lay down in right engine compartment IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrical connectors AR82.30-P-6800B
7 Remove windows stops (2) at bottom left and right IMPORTANT Only vehicles as of middle of 1997  
8 Remove paneling from front wall pillar   ra88001290850x
9 Press trim strip off of windshield at top with plastic wedge (arrows) SPECIAL TOOL Fig 2
DANGER Risk of injury  from slipping when clamping blade in the multicutter and from glass splinters when cutting out glued windows Always interrupt air supply when inserting or removing blade.
Wear protective gloves and eye protection.

11 Remove windshield from body with suction cups NOTES When removing window observe loosening of retaining strips (1) on heat exchanger (only vehicles up to middle of 1997)

INSTALLING Install    
12 Prepare body flange for installation of window SPECIAL TOOL AR67.10-P-1501-01P

13.1 Install bottom window stops (2) IMPORTANT Only vehicles as of middle of 1997  
13.2 Replace adhesive strips (1) on heat exchanger IMPORTANT Remove protective foil just before installing window

14 Prepare window for installation   AR67.10-P-1000-03P 
15 Install window molding on side of windshield   ra68001290400x
16 Align windshield in body opening   AR67.10-P-1000-04C

    IMPORTANT Observe gap *BE67.10-P-1001-01B 
17 Apply glue   AR67.10-P-1000-08P

IMPORTANT Height of glue bead approx. 13 mm
NOTES Install window within 10 minutes before adhesive force of glue starts to decrease

    IMPORTANT Curing time is approx. 1 hour, calculated from the time the windshield is installed. *WE58.40-Z-1029-11A 
19 Install trim strip at top of windshield (arrows)    
20 Install paneling on front wall pillar   ra88001290850x
21 Install wiper system   AR82.30-P-6800B
