Electronic Traction Support (E320 4-MATIC)

Electronic Traction Support (ETS) monitors all wheel speeds and controls operation using a command to hydraulic unit to apply a brake application to the appropriate driven wheel(s). ABS and ETS basic components and switching circuits are combined in hydraulic unit. ETS prevents drive wheel(s) from spinning when starting off, accelerating and cornering within specified speed ranges. A instrument panel warning light will illuminate warning driver. If BAS/ETS warning light illuminates in ETS control mode and goes out after awhile, a calculated temperature value, stored in ETS control module, of the brake linings has been exceeded. ETS function will switch off until linings have dropped to a preset value.
