Test Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2002 Mercedes-Benz ML320, 2002 Mercedes-Benz E320, 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK320, 2001 Mercedes-Benz ML320, and 2001 Mercedes-Benz E320. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Voltage -
Connect DVOM between ME-SFI control module connector "E" terminals No. 48 and 45 (socket box terminals No. 104 and 101). Turn ignition on. Voltage should correspond with temperature. See INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR VOLTAGE table. If voltage is okay, test is complete. If voltage is not okay, perform remaining step. Possible causes are defective ME-SFI control module.INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR VOLTAGE

Turn ignition off. Connect DVOM between ME-SFI control module connector "E" terminals No. 48 and 45 (socket box terminals No. 104 and 101). Resistance should correspond with temperature. See INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE table. If resistance is okay, test is complete. If resistance is not okay, possible causes are wiring harness failure or defective hot film MAF sensor (B2/5). Repair as necessary.INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE
