Duel pressure regulator - task The fuel pressure regulator maintains a fairly constant fuel system pressure of about 5.0 bar, quite independently of the delivery rate of the fuel pump (M3).
Fuel pressure regulator - design The fuel pressure regulator consists of a sheet metal housing in which there is a valve, a push spring and a membrane.
Fuel pressure regulator - function If the set fuel pressure is exceeded, the diaphragm is pressed against the push spring and the valve attached to the membrane frees up the opening for the return to the fuel tank.
If the set pressure is below the limit, the valve is closed again by means of the push spring.
