Fuel pump function - GF47.20-P-4003-02KE
Screw spindle pump (except models 211, 219)
Helical spindle pump (except models 211, 219)
The rotating spindle (1) delivers the fuel to the fuel filter by the centrifugal force effect. In this case the fuel pump (M3) delivers more fuel than the engine needs in total in order to maintain the pressure in the fuel system in all operating states. As a result of this extra delivery circulation of fuel occurs whereby there is always relatively cool fuel is available at all times for injection (avoids the formation of vapor bubbles).
A pressure relief valve (4) is integrated in the fuel pump in order to limit the internal pressure.
The check valve (3) in the fuel pump decouples the fuel system from the fuel tank by preventing fuel from flowing back through the disconnected fuel pump to the fuel tank.
Actuation of models 211, 219
Actuation of both fuel pumps takes place at the same time via the fuel pump relay (K27/1) via the ME control unit (N3/10). Both fuel pumps are designed as two-stage flow pumps.
Actuation of models 215, 220, 230, 463
Regulation of the fuel pump takes place via the fuel pump control unit (N118). Actuation of the fuel pump control unit takes place via the fuel pump relay (K40/5kT, N10/2kA) via the ME control unit (N3/10).
The delivery rate of the Fuel pump (for AMG) is 300 l/h at a 5.0 bar fuel pressure.
