Coolant temperature sensor function - GF07.04-P-5026-04AM
The NTC resistor integrated in the coolant temperature sensor alters its electrical resistance in line with the coolant temperature. The ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) applies a sensor voltage of 5 V and evaluates the signal voltage in accordance with the coolant temperature.
NTC means "N egative T emperature C oefficient", which means: the electrical resistance drops with increasing temperature (thermal resistor).
EXAMPLE
| Coolant temperature | Resistor |
|---|---|
| 20°C | 090 Ω ± 5% |
| 80°C | 320 Ω ± 5% |
The connection assignment (polarity) of connection pin 1 and 2 is random.
