Windshield Wipers Not Functioning Properly

SERVICE INFORMATION

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles regarding any of the below conditions, these may occur with a rain / light sensor (RLS) with software version SW8.7 and DTC 9093 may be stored in the overhead control panel (OCP).

Conditions:

To resolve,

  1. Read coding from original rain/light sensor (RLS) using SDS by following the path Control units -> Body -> OCP - Overhead control panel -> Initial startup -> Initial startup with automatic takeover of settings of previous control unit -> F3 -> Parameterization and windshield adaptation.
  2. Determine windshield tint as described, select windshield tint and confirm with F3.
  3. Remove the rain/light sensor (RLS) per WIS Document AR82.30-P-7800T (211) or AR82.30-P-7800TX (219).
  4. Replace RLS with A211 820 54 26 with either software version 8.6 or preferably optimized software available as of December 2005.
  5. Reinstall the rain/light sensor (RLS) per WIS Document AR82.30-P-7800T (211) or AR82.30-P-7800TX (219).
  6. Transfer coding to the new rain light sensor (RLS) using SDS by following the path Parameterization and windshield adaptation -> F3 to transfer coding to the new control unit -> Windscreen adaptation of rain sensor -> F5 to start -> F2 after adaptation is successfully completed -> Adaptation of light sensor amplification factor -> F3 to keep the value at 79 or 50% -> F3 to transfer coding to the new control unit -> Initial startup with automatic takeover of settings previous control unit -> F1 to finish.
