MODEL 211.0/2 as of 1.6.06 with CODE (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio

With the aid of the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56), the position of the vehicle, the direction and the distance to the destination (after entering the destination) are determined by the integrated navigation processor. Then the required measures for reaching the destination are started (destination-oriented navigation).

Once the navigation system has been activated by opening the driver door (in the background), it is operational via the radio control panel and navigation unit immediately after initialization.

Entry aid (speller)

While entering the destination using the speller, the letters still to be completed are added from a stored list.

The predictive speller refers to the entry of the destination and the street during destination-oriented navigation. The "Special Destinations" menu is supplemented by the "Bypassing other Locations" and "National Destinations" submenus.

Destination entry

The destination is entered menu-assisted via the radio control panel and navigation unit and is processed by the navigation processor. The user can enter the destination in navigation mode in the radio control panel and navigation unit in the following ways:

The navigation processor calculates the most probable position by continuously comparing the results returned by these 3 methods.

Route calculation

The route is calculated by the navigation processor in accordance with the specified destination, or automatically, after a deviation from the suggested route has taken place. With the dynamic destination-oriented navigation system, the route calculation is influenced by incorporating traffic information via an external provider by means of radio (TMC). The calculated route is stored in the navigation processor.

Destination-oriented navigation starts once the navigation processor has carried out the route calculation

3 types of display can be selected for graphic destination-oriented navigation:
