Location 

The accelerator pedal sensor is located in the accelerator pedal module.

Task 

The acceleration request from the driver is read in electronically via the accelerator pedal sensor from the CDI control unit (N3/9) (for a diesel engine) or from ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (for a gasoline engine) and transferred to the throttle valve actuator (M16/6).

Function 

When the driver actuates the accelerator pedal, the integrated hall sensor with double recognition mode recognizes the actuation path and the actuation speed.

In case of failure of one of the signals the CDI control unit or ME-SFI [ME] control unit can refer back to a second signal from the Hall sensor.
