Function requirements for engine torque requests for the ME-SFI gasoline injection and ignition system (engine electronic) (ME), general points

ME-SFI engine torque requests, general points

The torque interface in the ME-SFI [ME] control unit coordinates and sets priorities for the requirements of all systems (according to drivability and priority setting), which determine engine torque requirement.

It also determines how dynamically each requirement is to be implemented.

The following systems can make an engine torque request:

ME-SFI engine torque requests, function sequence

According to the dynamic requirements, the ME-SFI [ME] control unit varies the engine torque requirement, by:

IMPORTANT Torque reserve:

If the injection time is increased and the ignition angle is retarded at the same time, the engine torque remains the same at first.

However, the engine torque can then be raised very quickly by advancing the ignition angle.
