COMPLAINT

The axle alignment check using the MB quick clamping devices is not possible; the quick clamping devices tilt on the wheel. The measurement results are erroneous.

CAUSE

The mounting bolt of the brake disk is directly below a mounting hole on the rim for the quick clamping system.

Because of this the quick clamping system cannot be aligned exactly; it can tilt and produce erroneous measurement results.

AMG models have a second countersunk hole in the brake disk with no bolt; this is located below another mounting hole.

REMEDY

The axle alignment check on G-Class vehicles may only be performed using universal adapters.

Use of the MB quick clamping system is not permissible.
