The Key-P function can still be implemented also in emergency cases, if for example, undervoltage prevails in the on-board electrical system or the communication with the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) is faulty. In these cases an emergency case motor in the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT is supplied with voltage by the starter battery via the EIS [EZS] (N73) control unit (G1/4) and triggers the emergency-P function.

If an emergency case is no longer present (e.g. the onboard electrical system voltage has stabilized again), the emergency P-function is deactivated and the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT is again in the normal operating condition. The emergency-P function cannot be canceled mechanically.
