Function

The desired in-car temperature is set separately for left and right by turning the temperature selector wheel on the automatic heater (N18) or AAC (N22) control and operating unit.

The automatic heater control and operating unit (N18) or AAC (N22) compares the desired temperature with the actual temperature in the vehicle interior. This temperature is measured by the in-car temperature sensor (N70b1) in the overhead control panel control unit (N70). In vehicles with automatic air conditioning, the interior temperature is also measured by the in-car temperature sensor (N22b1) at the AAC control and operating unit (N22).

By comparing the actual values with the specified values, the automatic heater control and operating unit (N18) or AAC (N22) determines the correct position for the blend air flaps and actuates them separately for the left and right sides. The selected temperature is reached and maintained as quickly as possible, if warming or cooling of the interior is necessary.
