Maximum speed limit, general points
For vehicles with the corresponding engine power, the ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) limits the maximum speed to 250 km/h. The ME-SFI control unit receives the vehicle speed information over the chassis CAN (CAN E) from the ESP control unit (N47-5).
Maximum speed limit function sequence
If 250 km/h is reached, the ME-SFI control unit reduces the throttle valve opening angles (of the front and rear throttle valve actuators (M16/3, M16/4)) and the injection times of the fuel injection valves (Y62).
These measures ensure simple maximum speed limitation the reduction of the engine torque.
