Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor (Call-out in wiring diagram: B60 or B60/4) actual value reading 300-400 mbar less than other pressure sensors with Key On Engine Off. Also, Check Engine Lamp (CEL) w/ DTCs for implausible exhaust back-pressure value and vehicle in Limp home mode
CAUSE / EXPLANATION
Two types of exhaust back-pressure sensors are currently in production: Relative and Absolute styles.
- Absolute Exhaust Back-Pressure Sensor PN's OM642 & OM651: 009-153-52-28.
- Relative Exhaust Back-Pressure Sensor OM642: 007-153-43-28.
- Relative Exhaust Back-Pressure Sensor OM651: 651-905-02-00.
CORRECTION
Ensure correct exhaust back-pressure sensor is installed. EPC May not be correct. Relative & absolute exhaust back-pressure sensors look identical & an incorrect PN can get installed accidently. Please verify correct part number prior to installation.
