The signals of the interior central locking switch and the ATA function display (N72/1s6) are transmitted by the upper overhead control panel control module (N72/1) to the passenger compartment CAN bus. In addition, the signal of the left front door contact switch (S17/3) and right front door contact switch (S17/4) is evaluated by the EIS control module (N73).

If the vehicle is locked with "Automatic locking" function after exceeding a speed of 15 km/h it can be unlocked with the interior central locking switch and ATA function display (N72/1s6). The vehicle then remains unlocked even at speeds above the limit

The function of the interior central locking switch and ATA function display (N72/1s6) depends on the following situations: 

• Driver's door open, unlocking and locking of all doors is possible
• Passenger door open, locking is no longer possible (also applies when driver's door is open)
• If the vehicle is locked from outside with the remote control key unlocking is no longer possible.
• After unlocking from outside with the remote control key, it can be unlocked and locked as long as a door is not opened.

The fuel filler flap cannot be locked with the interior central locking switch and the ATA function display (N72/1s6)
