Location 

The sidebag units are located in the outer side of the driver and front passenger seat backrests.

Task 

If a side impact occurs in the door and B-pillar area, the sidebag units protect the driver and the front passenger from injury.

Triggering is conducted by the restraint systems control unit (N2/7) igniting each of the squibs.
