Location
The AIRSCARF system control unit is located in the trunk behind the right trunk lining.
Task
The AIRSCARF system control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connection:
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Interior CAN
The following signals are read in over the interior CAN:
- Provided by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1):
- Outside temperature sensor signal (B14)
- Status of the left AIRSCARF button (N72/1s21)
- Status of the right AIRSCARF button (N72/1s22)
- Provided by the automatic air conditioning control and operating unit (N22/7):
- Signal of interior temperature sensor (B10/4)
- Provided by the rear control unit (N22/6):
- Soft top status
- Provided by instrument cluster (A1):
- Vehicle speed
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN
Direct line
The following components are actuated via a direct line:
- Left AIRSCARF fan motor (M4/10)
- Right AIRSCARF fan motor (M4/11)
- Left AIRSCARF heating element (R22/5)
- Right AIRSCARF heating element (R22/6)
Interior CAN
The following components are actuated with the interior CAN:
- By the front SAM control unit via the upper control panel control unit (N72/1) and the instrument panel LIN (LIN 1):
- LED for the left AIRSCARF button
- LED for the right AIRSCARF button
