Keyless Go, general

The Keyless Go system allows access to the vehicle and starting the vehicle engine without using the transmitter key (A8/1).

It is sufficient to have the transmitter key on your person.

IMPORTANT Operation of the central locking (CL) via the transmitter key remains possible parallel to the Keyless Go functions.

The Keyless Go system comprises the following subfunctions:

Further subfunctions are described in the appropriate service information:

Function sequence for position definition of transmitter key

A position determination of the transmitter key is required for the individual functions. For this purpose the following components are actuated directly via a direct line by the KEYLESS-GO control unit (N69/5):

The KEYLESS-GO control unit (N69/5) determines the position of the transmitter key via the KEYLESS-GO antennas. The determined position is transmitted by radio signal to the roof antenna module (A2/93). The roof antenna module edits the signal and relays it to the KEYLESS GO control unit.

IMPORTANT In the illustrations below the transmission range for the KEYLESS-GO antennas is shown schematically in relation to the specific possible key positions (A, B, C, D or E).
