| Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. |

| 1 | Switch off ignition | ||
| 2 | Remove rear section of lower engine compartment paneling | AR61.20-P-1105SX | |
| 3 | Remove air filter housing (1). | AR09.10-P-1150SX | |
| 4 | Reduce pressure in cooling system by slowly opening cap (2) on the expansion reservoir (3) for the coolant and closing it again | ||
| 5 | Disconnect electrical connector on crankshaft Hall sensor (B70) | ||
| 6 | Disconnect electrical connector at coolant temperature sensor (B11/4) | ||
| 7 | Remove bolt (4) and remove clamping plate (5) | *BA15.60-P-1001-01A | |
| 8 | Fit new O-ring (6) to new coolant temperature sensor (B11/4) | ||
| 9 | Pull coolant temperature sensor (B11/4) out of cylinder head and immediately insert new coolant temperature sensor (B11/4) | ||
| 10 | Install in the reverse order | ||
| 11 | Pour in coolant and bleed cooling system | AR20.00-P-1142SX | |
| 12 | Read out fault memory with STAR DIAGNOSIS and erase if necessary | ||
| Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory | AD00.00-P-2000-04A |
