Function requirements

Manual adjustment of steering column:

The steering column adjustment raise/lower, forward/back switch (S59/1s1)  is read in by the steering column module (N80)  and transferred cyclically to the passenger compartment CAN. The driver-side SAM control module (N10/10)  then actuates the steering column adjustment motor group (M20)  according to the adjustment request.

Automatic adjustment with memory feature

Additional prerequisites:

The 3 memory positions, located in the left seat adjustment switch group (S91/2)  are called via:

The positions on the driver's side are stored with key codes.  For this, the DI control module (N73)  transmits the memory block number corresponding to the key code to all participating control modules.

The key-dependent position is stored and the steering column is adjusted to the stored position by combining information from the left door control module (N69/1)  and the DI control module (N73)  .

A CAN message is transmitted via the door control module to the driver-side SAM control module (N10/10)  , which then actuates the steering column adjustment motor group (M20)  according to the adjustment request.

Adjustments that can be called using the memory feature
