MODEL 230

Function
The limp-home function ensures that the steering column can be adjusted to the driving position even if a fault occurs with the position measurement so that the driver's airbag continues to function properly when the vehicle is in use.
In the limp-home mode, the steering column can be adjusted manually using the steering column adjustment raise/lower, forward/back switch (S59/1s1) but only for a period of t = 2 seconds .
The switch must be released and pressed again after each actuation.
The steering column cannot be adjusted using the easy entry/exit or memory (seat adjustment/mirror adjustment/steering column adjustment) functions in the limp-home mode.
The failure of the hall signals for the motors (steering column adjustment) is displayed in the instrument cluster (A1)
.
