Function requirements, general 

IMPORTANT The electronic ignition lock control unit sends the status of circuit 15 via chassis CAN 1 to the supplemental restraint system control unit.

IMPORTANT After circuit 15R is switched off, parts of the supplemental restraint system remain active for a certain run-on time.

IMPORTANT Power reserve: The supplemental restraint system control unit provides a power reserve for at least t = 300 ms if the battery has been disconnected.

Supplemental restraint system, general information 

The supplemental restraint system is intended for occupant protection and with CODE U60 (Active engine hood (pedestrian protection)) also for pedestrian protection.

IMPORTANT Belt lock: The belt is prevented from extending in certain situations, irrespective of the status of the supplemental restraint system.
