Programming of Control Units

Please note that the state of charge (SOC) of the high-voltage battery must be checked before every control unit programming procedure. The SOC value must be read from the instrument cluster or COMAND (under hybrid functions).

If the SOC shows a value < 50 %, the high-voltage battery must be recharged (charging when stationary). Follow the instruction in Charge High-Voltage Battery document AR54.10-P-1170EH (operation step 5.1).

The high-voltage battery must be charged to a state of charge of 75 % SOC before a control unit is programmed with Xentry Diagnostics. If the SOC is between 5 % and 10 %, the HV contactors of the high-voltage battery must be closed manually.

Please note that there are two different procedures depending on which XENTRY DAS version is used. In both cases, a password must be requested from the SDS HelpDesk.

Valid for XENTRY DAS Version 9/20/2013

Carry out menu item "Manually close contactors" (battery management system control unit N82/2 (BMS)). The high-voltage battery must be charged to a state of charge of 75 % SOC analogous to the document AR54.10-P-1170EH operation step 5.1.

Valid for XENTRY DAS Version 11/2013

The high-voltage battery must be charged to a state of charge of 75 % SOC analogous to Charge High-Voltage Battery AR54.10-P-1170EH operation steps 4 and 5.1.

If the SOC is < 5 %, the high-voltage battery can no longer continue to be used and must be replaced (see Charge High-Voltage Battery AR54.10-P-1170EH operation step 6).
