Structure
The following components are installed in the liftgate lock:
- Liftgate lock switch
- Liftgate latch motor
Task
The liftgate lock connects the liftgate with the lock striker, holds it securely closed or releases it again in the case of an opening request.
The liftgate lock has the following tasks:
- Definition of the status of the liftgate (open or closed) via the status of the liftgate lock switch.
- Locking/unlocking of the liftgate via the central locking system through actuation of the liftgate lock motor.
Depending on the vehicle, the signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM control unit) reads the status of the liftgate lock switch. In addition, the signal acquisition and actuation module actuates the liftgate lock motor accordingly.
