Tire Pressure Monitor System Reactivation

CAUTION: The warning system can only operate in a reliable manner if correct tire pressures are set. If an incorrect tire inflation pressure is set, the system will monitor the pressure according to the incorrect value.
NOTE: In the event of air pressure changes by the driver, or of a wheel replacement or a tire change, new air pressure values in the TPM [RDK] control unit are detected automatically by filling detection. Manual reactivation is merely planned as a stopgap solution if automatic filling detection fails.
  1. Ensure inflation pressure of all 4 tires is set to specification.
  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position (or SmartKey position 2).
  3. Use the HOME button (house icon) on the steering wheel to call up the list of menus.
  4. Using the controls on the left side of the steering wheel, press the UP or DOWN arrow button to select the SERVICE menu. Press OK.
  5. Press the UP or DOWN arrow button to select TIRE PRESSURE. Press OK.
  6. The multifunction display shows the current tire pressure for the individual tires or the TIRE PRESSURE WILL BE DISPLAYED AFTER DRIVING A FEW MINUTES MESSAGE.
  7. Press the DOWN arrow button. The USE CURRENT PRESSURES AS NEW REFERENCE VALUES message appears in the multifunction display.
  8. Press the OK button. The TIRE PRESS. MONITOR RESTARTED message appears in the multifunction display.
  9. After driving for a few minutes, the system checks whether the current tire pressures are within the specified range. The new tire pressures are then accepted as reference values and monitored.
