Information Specifications on performance tuning of engines 

Performance tuning measures can influence the service life of the drive train (engine, transmission, propeller shaft, differential etc.) considerably. Mercedes-Benz recommends removal of the performance tuning kit. Otherwise there could be engine damage during the journey, which could result in the drive suddenly not being available any more. In addition, the steerability and the brake force of the vehicle can be impaired while driving with an engine damage, which could cause damage to property or injury to persons. Furthermore, warranty claims may be rendered invalid if damage has (partly) been caused by performance tuning measures. Moreover, performance tuning constitutes so-called product misuse, which may also result in invalidation of the manufacturer's product liability. Such tuning measures impair the service life and function of your engine, in particular the components high pressure pump, injectors, mechanical engine systems (pistons, connecting rod bearings and main bearings, etc.) and the exhaust gas cleaning system.

Due to property damage which may arise and the dangers described we urgently recommend that you remove the performance tuning kit which has been found in the vehicle. Mercedes-Benz recommends that you have this work carried out in a qualified specialist workshop, e.g. at a Mercedes-Benz support point.

This information specifications is to be handed over to the customer and a note on the hand over included on the customer invoice.
