Function requirements, general
- Vehicle speed v < 8 km/h
The instrument cluster (A1) sends the vehicle speed via chassis CAN 2 (CAN E2), the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73), chassis CAN 1 (CAN E1), CDI control unit (N3/9) (engine 642) or ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) (engine 157, 273) or powertrain control unit (N127) (engine 176) and drivetrain CAN (CAN C) to the fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/8n4).
Key-P, general
After circuit 15C is switched off, gear range "P" is automatically engaged and then locked by the Key-P function.
The electronic ignition lock control unit sends the status of circuit 15 via chassis CAN 1, the CDI control unit (engine 642) or ME-SFI control unit (engine 157, 273) or powertrain control unit (engine 176) and drivetrain CAN to the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) and to the fully integrated transmission control unit.
If the function requirements are met, the fully integrated transmission control unit sends the request to engage gear range "P" via the drivetrain CAN to the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT, which then implements this request.
If, while the vehicle is in motion (v > 8 km/h), circuit 15C is switched off, the transmission is automatically shifted to gear range "N". As a result, the vehicle can roll "freely".
The range selector lever in the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT remains locked in position "P" if at least one of the following states is present:
- Circuit 15 OFF
- No power supplied to intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT
- No enable from drive authorization system (DAS 3) (up to 31.08.2015)
- No enable from drive authorization system (DAS 4) (as of 01.09.2015)
- Brake pedal not actuated
The Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) sends the status of the brake pedal via chassis CAN 1, the CDI control unit (engine 642) or ME-SFI control unit (engine 157, 273) or powertrain control unit (engine 176) and drivetrain CAN to the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT and to the fully integrated transmission control unit.
