The electronic ignition lock control unit is connected to the network architecture of the vehicle and forms an interface for the communication of different systems and their control units. In addition, the electronic ignition lock control unit transmits information for the variant coding, e.g. model series, major assembly version, and national version, via the network architecture of the vehicle to all control units. They then perform part of their self-configuration.
