DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove bottom engine compartment lining. Engine 260 in model 118, 177, 247 with code M016 (Uprated engine) AR61.20-P-1105MFR

INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install lower engine compartment paneling after leak test.

2 Unclip electrical connector (1) from holder (2).    
3 Release and disconnect electrical connection (1) for oxygen sensor downstream of catalytic converter (G3/1).    
4 Remove lambda sensor downstream of catalytic converter (G3/1). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Coat thread of lambda sensor downstream of catalytic converter (G3/1) with heat-resistant lubricating paste.  
    Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20 *BR00.45-Z-1005-06A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Oxygen sensor downstream of catalytic converter *BA14.00-P-1004-01A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Box wrench bit Fig 3
5 Seal threaded hole in catalytic converter with suitable stop plug. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 4
6 Cover the tip of the oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (G3/1) with a protective cover. When reusing the lambda sensor downstream of catalytic converter (G3/1).

7 Install in the reverse order.    
8 Read out and delete fault memory.

WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
9 Perform engine test run; check engine for proper operation and check exhaust system for leak tightness.    
10 Install lower engine compartment lining. Engine 260 in model 118, 177, 247 with code M016 (Uprated engine) AR61.20-P-1105MFR
