WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Unclip electrical connector (1) and electric line from the brackets (2).    
2 Release and disconnect electrical connector (1) of the lambda sensor upstream of the catalytic converter (G3/2).    
3 Remove oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/2). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Coat thread of the lambda sensor upstream of the catalytic converter (G3/2) with hot lubricating paste.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter *BA14.00-P-1005-01A 
    Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20 *BR00.45-Z-1005-06A

4 Seal threaded hole in catalytic converter with suitable stop plug. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 4
5 Cover sensor tip of lambda sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/2) with protective cover. When the oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/2) is reused.

6 Install in the reverse order.    
7 Read out and delete fault memory.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06MFA
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
8 Perform an engine test run; check engine for proper operation and check exhaust system for leak tightness.
