DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Disconnect the ground line for the on-board electrical system battery (G1).   AR54.10-P-0003ME
2.1 Remove left air filter housing. Engine 176 in model 167 AR09.10-P-1151MNO
2.2 Remove the bracket of the low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir. Engine 177 in model 167 AR09.41-P-0017MNP
3 Remove noise insulation above left low-pressure line.    
4 Remove fuel pressure via the service connection.   AR07.03-P-1460-01MNL 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Dust protection cap to service connection *BA07.03-P-1005-01H 
    SPECIAL TOOL Pressure hose Fig 4
5 Release and disconnect electrical connector on left fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B42/2).    
6 Clean rail in area of left fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B42/2). NOTES
Absolute cleanliness must be ensured when working on high-pressure fuel circuit. Use only lint-free cleaning cloths
High-pressure fuel circuit will otherwise be damaged.
Assembly cleaner
*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
7 Cover area around left fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B42/2) with suitable rags and carefully slightly release left fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B42/2). IMPORTANT Wear oil-resistant, fiber-free gloves lined with rubber.
SPECIAL TOOL Box wrench attachment, 27_mm

8 Remove left fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B42/2). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Install new left fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B42/2).
IMPORTANT Collect exuded fuel using a suitable absorbent rag.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Pressure transducer to fuel distributor

    SPECIAL TOOL Box wrench attachment, 27_mm Fig 3
9 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
10 Check fuel high-pressure circuit for leak tightness.

WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
11 Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
