REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove left or right front wheel and tire assembly.   AR40.10-P-1102ME
2 Loosen counternut (2) on inner tie rod (1). INSTALLATION NOTES Always counterhold the tie rod (3).
Otherwise, the tie rod (3) will be damaged.
IMPORTANT After loosening, do not turn the counternut (2) on the inner tie rod (1) any more.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Self-locking nut, tie rod to inner tie rod *BA46.40-P-1001-01K 
3 Remove nut (5). NOTES
The ball head must be counterheld and an impact wrench/driver must not be used.
Otherwise, the ball head or steering knuckle (6) will be damaged.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Self-locking nut, tie rod to steering knuckle *BA46.40-P-1002-01K 
4 Detach tie rod (3) from steering knuckle (6). NOTES
Do not damage seal bellows (4) when removing.
Otherwise, the tie rod (3) will have to be replaced.
 
5 Remove tie rod (3) from inner tie rod (1). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Position tie rod (3) up to counternut (2).  
6 Install in the reverse order    
  Concluding tasks     
7 Perform chassis alignment.   AR40.20-P-0200ME
