General
The accelerator pedal sensor converts the mechanical actuation of the accelerator pedal into a voltage signal that corresponds to the accelerator pedal position.
Function
The accelerator pedal sensor is integrated in the accelerator pedal pivot. The accelerator pedal sensor consists of a shaft with ring magnet. The ring magnet rotates in a printed circuit board with stator in two fixed Hall elements. This produces a change in the voltage.
Limp-home mode
If the signal voltage of a Hall element fails, the signal voltage of the second Hall element is used and the engine enters limp-home mode.
