Engine Cranks But Does Not Start
- Perform fuel system test and correct as required. Repair any known fuel leaks before proceeding with test. If problem remains, continue trouble shooting procedure.
- Check ignition system. Ensure spark plugs, ignition coil, distributor and wiring are operating properly. If problem remains, continue trouble shooting procedure.
- Perform fuel pump test and correct as required. If vehicle still does not start, test fuel pump circuit, injectors and injector circuit. If problem remains, continue trouble shooting procedure.
- Perform sensor tests and repair as required. If vehicle still does not start, problem is not located within the fuel injection system. Check for other engine malfunctions which may prevent engine from starting (basic timing, ignition system, charging system, etc.).
