Fuel Charging Assembly
- Place fuel charging assembly on work stand or use bolts as legs. Four 5/16 x 2-1/2" bolts can be used as legs with nuts installed above and below throttle body. Remove air cleaner stud. Turn fuel charging assembly over and remove 4 retaining screws attaching throttle body to upper body. Separate throttle body from upper body and set aside.
- Remove and discard gasket. Remove 3 fuel pressure regulator retaining screws. Remove pressure regulator. Inspect condition of gasket and "O" ring. Disconnect electrical connectors at injectors, being careful to pull on connector and not wiring. Make sure to index mark connectors for reassembly reference because they MUST be installed on same injector as removed.
- Loosen but DO NOT remove wiring harness retaining screw with multi-connector. Push in on tabs on harness to remove upper body. Remove injector retainer. Remove each injector from upper body individually. Identify each injector as to throttle or TPS side. If "O" ring does not come out with injector, carefully remove "O" ring out of cavity in throttle body, and remove fuel diagnostic valve assembly.
