Knock Sensor: Installation

  1. Position knock sensor on cylinder block and install knock sensor bolt. Tighten knock sensor bolt securely.
  2. Connect knock sensor electrical connector.
  3. Clean radiator/heater pipe-to-thermostat housing mounting surface. Apply a bead of silicone sealant around radiator/heater pipe-to-thermostat housing mounting surface.
  4. Position radiator/heater pipes on thermostat housing. Install five radiator/heater pipe-to-thermostat housing bolts. Tighten radiator/heater pipe-to-thermostat housing bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install radiator/heater pipes mounting bracket bolts.
  6. Install intake manifold. See LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD  under FUEL SYSTEM.
  7. Install intake plenum. See INTAKE PLENUM  under FUEL SYSTEM.
  8. Connect negative battery cable.
  9. Start engine and check for normal operation.
