Speed Fluctuates
- Drive vehicle, leaving speed control disengaged. If speed does not fluctuate, go to next step. If speed fluctuates, service engine as necessary.
- Inspect speed control actuator, throttle linkage, and throttle plate for sticking or binding. Inspect all brackets for looseness. If all is okay, go to next step. Service as necessary.
- Unplug vehicle speed sensor connector, located at instrument cluster. Measure resistance between sensor terminals. If resistance is not 200-300 ohms, replace sensor. If resistance is as specified, inspect and repair associated wiring as necessary.
