Hazard Warning Switch Test

NOTE: Wire colors are those on mating harness connector.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. Unplug connector from hazard warning switch.
  2. Set hazard warning switch to OFF position. Continuity should exist between terminals No. 7 (Orange wire) and 10 (Pink/Blue wire). Continuity should not exist 7 (Orange wire) and 9 (Green/Yellow wire). Continuity should not exist between terminals No. 5 (Purple wire) and 6 (Red/Green wire). Continuity should not exist between terminals No. 5 (Purple wire) and No. 8 (Red/White wire). See Fig 1 .
  3. Set hazard warning switch to ON position. Continuity should not exist between terminals No. 7 (Orange wire) and 10 (Pink/Blue wire). Continuity should exist 7 (Orange wire) and 9 (Green/Yellow wire). Continuity should exist between terminals No. 5 (Purple wire) and 6 (Red/Green wire). Continuity should exist between terminals No. 5 (Purple wire) and No. 8 (Red/White wire). Replace switch if continuity is not as specified.
