Coil Spring/Strut Assembly: Installation

NOTE: Ensure that the coil spring/strut assembly is installed in the vehicle with the alignment marks on the strut mounting block bolt and chassis strut tower aligning with each other.
  1. Position the coil spring/strut assembly in the chassis strut tower.
  2. Install the three mounting block nuts. See Figure . Tighten the mounting block nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Position the coil spring/strut assembly over the steering knuckle and install the two strut-to-steering knuckle/wheel hub assembly bolts.
  4. Install the two strut-to-steering knuckle/wheel hub assembly nuts. Tighten the strut-to-steering knuckle/wheel hub assembly nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install the brake line on the coil spring/strut assembly and install the brake hose U-clip.
  6. Position the wheel speed cable on the strut assembly, and install the two wheel speed sensor cable bracket bolts. See Figure .
  7. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten the wheel lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
