Shift Point Road Test

Ensure engine and transaxle is normal operating temperature. Road test vehicle in drive "D", NORMAL mode. Accelerate vehicle at half throttle until transaxle shifts into overdrive (4th gear). Reduce speed to complete stop. Repeat test with transaxle in POWER mode. Repeat both tests, operating vehicle at full throttle. Record all shift speeds. Monitor shift feel. Ensure transaxle engine braking is felt in "2" and "1" gear. See VEHICLE SHIFT SPEEDS .
Connect appropriate scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Perform road test as described in step 1) and monitor shift solenoid operation. See TRANSAXLE SHIFT SOLENOID STATUS CHART .

NOTE: 1996 vehicles do not have NORMAL & POWER mode, use NORMAL mode specifications.

⁽¹⁾	To determine deceleration shift speeds, release throttle once transaxle has shifted into 4th gear (O/D). Manually downshift shift lever into next lower gear and record speed at which downshift occurs. Continue downshifting and recording vehicle speed until transaxle has downshifted into low gear.
