Test B: Power Windows & Rear Quarter Glass Inoperative

  1. Check Fuse  - Inspect PWR WDW (30-amp) fuse (located in engine compartment fuse/relay panel). If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 4).
  2. Check System  - Turn ignition off. Replace PWR WDW fuse. Turn ignition switch to RUN position and operate power windows. If fuse fails, go to next step. If fuse did not fail, go to step 4).
  3. Check For Short To Ground  - Turn ignition off. Remove PWR WDW fuse. Disconnect circuit breaker No. 1 (located behind instrument panel fuse panel). Disconnect power window relay (located in instrument panel fuse panel). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance of White/Blue wire between rear terminal of PWR WDW fuse and ground. Check resistance of Light Green wire(s) between power window relay connector and ground. If resistances are more than 10 k/ohms, reconnect fuse and circuit breaker and go to next step. If resistances are 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in appropriate wire(s). Retest system operation.
  4. Check Power Supply To Power Window Relay  - Turn ignition off. Disconnect power window relay (located in instrument panel fuse panel). Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and power window relay connector Light Green wire terminals. If voltage readings are more than 10 volts, go to step 7). If either voltage reading is 10 volts or less, go to next step.
  5. Check Power Supply To Circuit Breaker No. 1  - Turn ignition off. Disconnect circuit breaker No. 1 (located behind instrument panel fuse panel). Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and circuit breaker No. 1 connector White/Blue wire terminal. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair White/Blue wire between PWR WDW fuse and circuit breaker No. 1. Retest system operation.
  6. Check Light Green Wire For Open  - Turn ignition off. Remove power window relay (located in instrument panel fuse panel). Disconnect circuit breaker No. 1 (located behind instrument panel fuse panel). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance of Light Green wire(s) between circuit breaker No. 1 connector and power window relay connector. If resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, replace circuit breaker No. 1 and retest system operation. If either resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair appropriate Light Green wire(s). Retest system operation.
  7. Check Power Window Relay Ground  - Turn ignition off. Disconnect 12-pin smart entry control timer module connector C2030 (located behind left instrument panel lower cover). Remove power window relay (located in instrument panel fuse panel). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and power window relay connector Black/Red wire terminal. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace power window relay and retest system operation.
  8. Check Black/Red Wire For Open  - Turn ignition off. Remove power window relay (located in instrument panel fuse panel). Disconnect 12-pin smart entry control timer module connector C2030 (located behind left instrument panel lower cover). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance of Black/Red wire between power window relay connector and 12-pin smart entry control timer module connector C2030. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black/Red wire. Retest system operation.
  9. Check Smart Entry Control Timer Module Ground Circuit  - Disconnect 26-pin and 12-pin smart entry control timer module connectors C2030 and C2032 (located behind left instrument panel lower cover). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and 26-pin smart entry control timer module connector C2032 Black wire terminal. Check resistance between ground and 12-pin smart entry control timer module connector C2030 Black wire terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace smart entry control timer module and retest system operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in appropriate Black wire(s). Retest system operation.
