Quick Test: Notes

NOTE: Diagnostic Trouble Codes can be retrieved without using diagnostic equipment by using MIL. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS USING MIL .

The following procedures are parts of the QUICK TEST. These basic test steps must be followed in sequence to avoid misdiagnosis:

Perform visual check. See VISUAL INSPECTION .
Perform equipment hookup. See EQUIPMENT HOOKUP .
Retrieve DTCs. See DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .
Erase codes and recheck for codes to repeat. See CLEARING CODES (WITH SCAN TOOL) .
Perform SWITCH MONITOR TEST (If necessary).
