Reverse Clutch: Disassembly
- Remove and discard snap ring. Remove pressure plate, steel clutch discs, friction discs and dish plates. Note number and location of components for reassembly reference. See Figure . Using appropriate compressor, compress spring retainer and remove and discard snap ring. Remove compressor, spring retainer, retainer and reverse clutch piston. Inspect condition of clutch discs.
- Measure thickness of friction discs. Thickness should be .063" (1.60 mm). Wear limit is .055" (1.40 mm). Replace friction discs in sets as needed. Measure height of dish plates. Height should be .121" (3.08 mm). Replace dish plates as needed. Ensure piston check ball is free in piston.
