Lead Terminal Repair

CAUTION: Do not overheat rear window glass or damage to glass may occur. To prevent overheating rear window glass, remove soldering gun as soon as solder flows.
NOTE: Rear window glass must be at room temperature at time of repair.

Clean bus bar in area to be repaired with steel wool (3/0 to 4/0 grade). See STEP 1 in Fig 1. Apply three coats of Rear Window Defogger Repair (D8AZ-19562-AA) or equivalent to surface. Allow 10 minutes of drying time between coats. See STEP 2 in Fig 1. Tin bus bar repair area with solder. See STEP 3 in Fig 1. Preheat rear window glass in area to be repaired using special tool and solder terminal to bus bar. See STEP 4 in Fig 1. Turn rear window defogger switch to ON position for five minutes prior to final inspection of repair.
