Intermittent Simulation

Monitor circuit/component voltage or resistance while attempting to simulate intermittent. Use the results to identify a faulty component or circuit.

The following methods for reproducing an intermittent fault can be performed while testing component or circuit:

• Lightly vibrate components and wiggle or bend wiring harness (simulates bumpy road surface).
• Heat component (simulates hot engine and ambient temperatures).
• Spray component with water (simulates moisture conditions, poor weather).
• Remove/apply vacuum source (simulates engine load and speed).
