Window Glass - Liftgate: Removal

  1. Remove the rear window wiper arm and motor. For additional information, refer to WIPERS AND WASHERS article.
  2. Remove the liftgate trim panel. For additional information, refer to WIPERS AND WASHERS article.
  3. Disconnect the 2 rear window defrost electrical connectors.

    WARNING: Always wear eye protection when servicing a vehicle. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
    WARNING: Wear protective gloves when handling components or parts that have pointed or sharp edges. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
    NOTE: To avoid rust formation, use extreme care not to scratch the paint or primer, or otherwise damage the pinch weld during glass removal.
    NOTE: Lubricate the existing urethane adhesive with water to aid the Deluxe Windshield Remover Tool while cutting.
  5. Using the Deluxe Windshield Remover Tool, cut the urethane adhesive away from the liftgate window glass and remove the liftgate window glass.
