Speed Signal Display Does Not Increase (Test B)

  1. Test drive vehicle. If speedometer does not operate properly, replace speed sensor. If speedometer is okay, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to "OFF" position. Disconnect harness connector from rear of fuel computer. Connect positive lead of voltmeter to terminal No. 6 of connector. See Figure . Connect negative lead of voltmeter to terminal No. 5 of connector. Turn ignition switch to "RUN" position. Position transmission in "N" or neutral position. Release parking brake. Raise one wheel and slowly rotate by hand. Voltage should increase to approximately 10 volts and decrease to zero volts. Voltage should increase and decrease as long as wheel is rotated. If okay, replace fuel computer. If not, locate and repair open in wiring between speed sensor and fuel computer.
