SITUATION
DSC warning light is illuminated
03054A - QDM - SBS - steering angle effect model fault stored in DSC control unit
CAUSE
Under voltage causes a loss of multi-turn value of the Electric Power Steering (EPS).
CORRECTION
Reset Electronic Power Steering (EPS) control unit via transport mode.
PROCEDURE
- Perform a visual inspection of all chassis components for signs of damage such as:
- Track rod
- Wheels and tires (for curb damage)
Is damaged detected?
Yes: replace damaged components and then go to step 2.
No: continue to step 2.
- Run the diagnosis with ISTA/Next and work through the corresponding test module. Observe the following:
EPS Control Unit:
- Switch the control unit into the transport mode via diagnosis.
- Allow the vehicle to enter sleep mode.
- Deactivate the transport mode.
- Start-up EPS again (teach-in steering center)
- Re-initialize steering by turning the steering wheel from stop to stop.
DSC Control Unit:
- Adjust the service function driving dynamic sensors and delete the fault memory.

Work time labor operation code 61 00 006 is not considered a Main labor operation. Also, since the "work time" FRU allowance to be claimed is specified, a separate punch time is not required.
